Ian FraserGlobal HR Director
Mr. Fraser joined Reed Elsevier in 2005 as Global HR Director responsible for leading human resources throughout the business. Ian is also currently acting as the interim head of LexisNexis Human Resources.
Prior to this he was Group VP Human Resources for BHP Billiton plc which is the world largest mining and metals company employing more than 100,000 worldwide. There he had global responsibility for the HR function, HR shared services, the Group’s offices and property portfolio. Most significantly, during the BHP and Billiton merger, as a member of the integration team he shared responsibility for aligning both organizations and achieving almost US$800m in merger synergies.
Before this, Mr. Fraser was the Human Resources Director for Charter plc which was an international, FTSE50 industrial manufacturing and engineering group employing 15,000 across 82 countries.
His earlier career included other senior HR leadership roles in retailing and the services sector, as well as in consultancy as head of organisation research for the Hay Group and as a senior consultant and psychometrician for Saville and Holdsworth.
Mr. Fraser also spent a significant part of his career in marketing and product development as a software solutions manager for the world’s leading supplier of software and statistical consultancy to the market research industry
Mr. Fraser has substantial international experience having lived and worked in 4 continents and has a joint M.A. (Hons.) from Edinburgh University in Philosophy & Psychology, a MBA in Finance and International Business from London's City University and is a Chartered Psychologist.
